FAQs

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Our wedding dress code is formal. For women, this means a long or midi-length dress, and for men, a suit and tie are appropriate. Tuxes are welcome, but not expected! Wear any color but white ;)

Question

Is the wedding inside or outside?

Answer

Both! Ceremony and cocktail hour will be outside the boathouse on the dock, and dinner and dancing will be inside. We will be providing fans to help everyone stay cool, but we are hoping it will be a beautiful, temperate day! If it does rain, then the entire event will be held indoors.

Question

You're getting married in a park! Will we need to walk on grass?

Answer

You will not need to walk through any grass to get to the venue (unless you go exploring) -- all walkways in the park will be paved. However, the boathouse is historic, and has uneven tile flooring inside. We advise against wearing any shoes with a skinny heel.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

We are not providing transportation -- Brooklyn streets are not great for shuttles! We recommend taking a Lyft or Uber to 101 East Drive. They will drop you off at the entrance to the park (Prospect Park is vehicle free!), where greeters will help direct you to the boathouse. If you prefer public transportation, take the B or Q to the Prospect Park stop, which drops you off right across the street from the park entrance. Please note that the subway requires stairs.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please make sure you arrive between 5:00-5:15pm! We will be providing welcome bubbly before the ceremony begins promptly at 5:30. Make sure you build in extra time to get to the venue. Because of traffic, we recommend adding 10 minutes to any Google Maps estimates.

Question

Are kids allowed?

Answer

While we adore your kiddos, our venue's size means we've chosen to host an adults-only celebration. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to sharing our special day with you.

Question

Do I have a plus one?

Answer

If your invitation includes "and guest," then you may bring someone to the wedding. Sadly, we can't accommodate plus ones for everyone!
