If you're looking to shop, pretty much any store you can think of is in this area - from discount to high end! Lots of good food and drink too.. recommendations: Domu, Fogo de Chao, Cooper's Hawk, Sweet by Holly (our wedding cupcakes aka. the best in the world!), True Food Kitchen, J. Alexander's.
Avondale is a bit further of a drive, but the drive is worth it if you eat at Biscotti's - one of our favorite restaurants in the city (the desserts/cakes are delicious and bigger than your head)! There is a little strip of shops, bars and restaurants you can walk around, as well!
If you want to check out a more beachy atmosphere, Neptune Beach is one of our favorites! After some fun in the sun, our food/drink recommendations are: Flying Iguana Taqueria & Tequila Bar, Poe's Tavern, Lemon Bar (fun bar right on the beach with yummy drinks!), North Beach Fish Camp, Coop 303.
If you're looking to explore, you'll love historic, downtown St. Augustine as much as we do! The Castillo de San Marcos is just one of the many amazing monuments in the area. And when you're done checking out the history, our other recommendations are: Ice Plant Bar, The Floridian, Harry's Seafood Bar & Grille, Prohibition Kitchen, Meehan's Irish Pub & Seafood House, MOJO Old City BBQ.
This beach can get really crowded, but it is the closest beach to the venue.. only about 20 minutes away! If this beach is too crowded, go south on A1A and you'll pass Guana Beach (parking lot is across the street and costs $3 cash to park - this is Laura's go to for a peaceful, less crowded beach).
