Our story goes a lil' something like this...

One night, just before the world locked down, Ange and Ray found themselves separately invited to a bonfire on the beautiful shores of Lake Champlain. While the fire crackled and friends played music, Ange played the classic game of “who do you know?” and quickly realized Ray shared a surprising number of cool mutual friends. Months passed, and their friendship grew naturally and eventually turned romantic. On their first date Ange met Ray to “clean mountain bikes together.” Spoiler alert: that was just the beginning. A few dates later, Ange knew—Ray was the one. Together, they chased each other up and down mountains, each in their own style. From multi-day hikes on the Long Trail to skiing at Jay Peak, camping, and mountain biking adventures, their friendly races became a beloved ritual. Ray always crossed the finish line first, but that never stopped Ange from trying—and loving every moment of the chase. Ange and Ray’s adventures have taken them far and wide—through countless states and unforgettable experiences. They’ve danced through endless concerts (ask Ange about her first Phish show), cheered passionately at many Patriots games, and even made the trip to Morgantown to root for the Mountaineers alongside Ange’s family. On February 26th, 2025, Ray and Ange found themselves in Telluride, exploring the breathtaking San Juan Mountains alongside Ray’s mom and Uncle David. They woke to a perfect, crystal-clear bluebird morning—the kind of day every skier dreams about. But as they set out, they quickly discovered that the infamous East Coast ice had made its way west. As Ray joked, it felt like skiing Mad River Glen in the dead of January. Knowing Ange’s tendency to get distracted (especially by a sunny spot and a cold beer at Bon Vivant), Ray urged the family to head toward Prospect Bowl—a quiet, remote part of the mountain far from any bars. When Ange finally called it a day, Ray convinced her to squeeze in “one more run,” promising he knew the perfect spot to capture a great photo for their Christmas card. When they arrived at the spot Ray had scouted earlier, Ange watched him carefully remove his snowboard, helmet, and gloves. She sensed something was different. Margaret snapped a few photos, and Ange began to think maybe nothing was happening after all. But when Margaret handed the phone back to Ray, he asked for “one more.” As Ange turned around, there he was—down on one knee, with the most stunning mountain backdrop imaginable. It was the easiest “yes” Ange had ever said. A few months after soaking in the joy of their engagement, Ange and Ray knew there was only one place in the world they could say “I do”—Jay Peak, their beloved Vermont ski resort that holds a special place in their hearts. They’re super excited to welcome their closest family and friends for a weekend nestled in the breathtaking mountains of Northern Vermont, where memories will be made and cherished forever! xox
