If you received a navy blue insert with your invitation, please feel free to use one of the limited parking spaces at Belmont Hall (217 Smyrna Leipsic Rd. Smyrna, DE 19977). If the insert you received was yellow, we'd really appreciate it if you could park at our reception venue (Cheswold Volunteer Fire Company | 371 Main St. Cheswold, DE 19936), where you can catch a shuttle over to the ceremony. If you know someone that will be parking at the ceremony and they have extra space in their car, you are of course more than welcome to hop in and ride with them. If you have misplaced your insert, just shoot one of us a text. That is totally something that we would do too, so there will be plenty of grace given!
Unfortunately we have limited space available at our venues, and so as much as we love the kiddos in our lives, we don't have room for them to join in on the celebration. We do, however, have some ideas for childcare in the works (with obviously very qualified humans), and so if you are traveling to the wedding, rest assured that there will be a safe place for your kids to hang during the ceremony and reception. In order to make sure we hire enough babysitters, if you will need childcare would you please let either Phil or Elayna know at the time that you RSVP? You could even add it to your "note to the couple" box if you're feeling like an over achiever! Thanks :)
When you park at the Cheswold Fire Hall there will be a party bus (shout out to Uncle Todd who had a party bus guy!) running a shuttle back and forth. The last shuttle will leave the fire hall around 3:40. Please plan to be in plenty of time to make the bus, mostly because we really don’t have a great back up plan!
This is a very important question, and we're so glad that you asked. There will be light appetizers during cocktail hour, and then a buffet style meal that will give you a great taste of Kent County, Delaware. There will also be an open bar throughout the evening.
We want to take seriously the fact that we are living through a global pandemic. We also are excited that there are a few different successful vaccine options, and that we seem to be moving in the right direction. Currently our thought is that we will be able to let each of our guests decide based on their own vaccination status, comfort levels, and convictions when to be masked / unmasked throughout the day. Obviously, we will ensure that there is plenty of hand sanitizer and reasonable spacing in each location, and we would ask that if any of you aren’t feeling well or are experiencing symptoms of COVID that you’d join us virtually on Zoom instead of in person. We also will continue to listen to and learn from trusted news sources, and if we feel it's necessary we can make stricter adjustments to these precautions.
