Great news! Hyatt Lodge is conveniently accessible from both Chicago airports—ORD (O’Hare) and MDW (Midway). O’Hare is approximately 20 minutes away, while Midway is about 30 minutes. Both are great options, but don’t forget about traffic! Factor in an extra 20-30 minutes during rush hour, construction, or whenever Chicagoans hit the road. Safe travels!
Rental Car
Rent a car!
Freedom on Four Wheels. The nearest Starbucks is 2.2 miles away. While some may find that to be a refreshing walk, crossing a highway by foot is not recommended. Alternative walking paths are available.
Travel Note
Uber/Lyft/Hotel Shuttle
Don’t feel like renting a car, but still want to explore beyond the hotel? Rideshares might be your best bet. According to the Eisner-Bonk “Uber Availability” study conducted on 2/4/2024, “there were a good deal of cars nearby. More than I thought” concluded lead researcher, Corey J. Bonk, CPA. The Hyatt Lodge also offers a complimentary shuttle. We will find out more information!! Stay tuned.
Train
Metra (BNSF Line)
Unfortunately, being in the suburbs the train and public transit options are limited. The closest Metra Station is Hinsdale (BNSF line), which is 3 miles south of the hotel. Additional transportation would be required. If looking to take the ‘L’, you are out of luck—this would require a train and 2-3 buses. This might turn into an adventure.
