Oak Brook is more than a sleepy suburb. There is a mix of nature-ey things + restaurants and shops. According to TripAdvisor.com there are over 900 restaurants and 190 attractions within 5 miles. While we haven't been to all of these places, here are a few that sound fun to us!

Oak Brook Center offers a fantastic outdoor shopping experience, with six major department stores and more than 160 shops and restaurants. All in a tranquil setting of lush gardens and flowing fountains for you to experience during your time in Illinois.

"The Champion of Trees". Here you'll find an oasis of 16 miles of hiking trails and nine miles of paved roads, perfect for hiking, running, biking or just exploring.

Morton Arboretum Visitor Center

Brookfield Zoo is home to more than 3,400 animals of over 500 species from around the globe.
