The Big Tree is a famous, ancient live oak located in Goose Island State Park near Lamar, Texas, known for its massive size, with a trunk circumference over 35 feet and an estimated age of 1,000-2,000 years, making it one of the oldest and largest live oaks in the world. It has survived numerous hurricanes and historical events, serving as a landmark for indigenous peoples, pirates, and explorers.

Rockport Beach is a Blue Wave Beach. This means the Beach is litter free, has handicap accessibility, public restroom facilities and swimmable waters. There are only three other Blue Wave Beaches on Texas’ Gulf Coast.
