Adam and Eileen worked together at a summer camp at the University of Tennessee in 2014. They quickly hit it off and decided to try dating long distance after only knowing each other for 2 months. Needless to say, it worked out.

Eileen had a suspicion that Adam was going to pop the question soon so she planned to get her nails done with her best friend Deanna. She almost cancelled that day after a long shift in the ICU but wanted to exchange Christmas gifts with Deanna. When she got back to the apartment, Adam had completely surprised her with candles and pictures to resemble a storybook. After the proposal, he had arranged to meet all of their best friends at Eileen's favorite bar.
