How It All Began

Day One

Its Disney... I’m finally here. I made it through the orientation, I made it through Disney’s traditions class, I made it through the operations classes, and the training classes, and finally I get to see where I work by going to yet again another class; “Ballyhoo, Welcome to the Boardwalk.” I enter this new resort I’ll be working at by going through the cast member tunnels. Thank goodness the trainers leading the class are waiting at the entrance because I am extremely directionally challenged, and I easily and often get lost. By the time Ballyhoo is over I have walked the entirety of the Boardwalk Resort and I remember 0% of the geography. So, when its time to leave, naturally I get lost. A member of my class and I wander around until finally I decide to ask for directions. I approach the first person I see, who happens to be wearing my soon to be uniform. I ask this incredibly handsome gentleman to kindly show us the way out. It turns out we are going to be working in the same kitchen; but even more than that, we are going to be getting married. Who knew Sarah Humphrey would meet the love of her life, Edwin Castro, by being in her natural element... lost.

The Proposal

Impulsitivity

I had known for a while that I wanted to be with Edwin for the rest of my life, but I can be patient; Edwin, however, cannot. Apparently there was this big, elaborate proposal planned for August when our families were here visiting, but it was only the end of February. With five months to go, Edwin grew impatient. It’s three o’clock in the morning on February 26th and I am laying in bed working on my online Spanish classes. Edwin is just staring at me, so naturally I say “what’s your damage, kid?” He responds by silently getting up and going to the closet. Out of curiosity, I follow him. “Its three a.m. ” I said, “what on earth are you doing!?” He turns around and says the most beautiful things to me. He then gets down on his knee. So of course I start crying, and am desperately trying to figure out how I am supposed to handle the situation. I do the only obvious thing, which is getting down onto my knees as well. And we'll live happily every after, or something like that...
