Question

The wedding is on a rooftop? Does this mean it is outside? What if it's cold?..

Answer

All great questions! The best thing about the Box House, and one of the reasons we fell in love with it, is that the venue has a retractable roof! If it happens to be a BEAUTIFUL March day (fingers crossed), then we may have the roof open (at least for a bit). The roof also has a full HVAC system, so heaters can be on while the roof is open. If it is horrible weather, the roof will be closed and the entire rooftop will be temperature regulated to adjust accordingly.

Question

When do I need to RSVP by?

Answer

RSVP's are not required until January 16th, after formal invitations are received. However, if you 100% know that you can NOT attend, we would greatly appreciate that you let us know via email to edwardandjosephine@gmail.com as soon as you can.

Question

What do I wear?

Answer

Black-tie optional means that it is preferred that guests wear tuxes and gowns, but it is not required. Dark colored suits and cocktail dresses are also accepted! Ladies, black-tie does not necessary mean black gowns.. it will be the start of spring and I would love to see some pops of color in the crowd! :) The rooftop does have little slats (teeny-tiny spaces in-between the wood planks). While we do not imagine that super skinny heels would get stuck in the slats, it may better to just be safe and go for block heels. Anyway, we expect everyone to be on the dance floor all night long so comfort is key!

Question

How do I get there?

Answer

- 7 Train: Vernon Blvd/Jackson Ave stop, and then walk 10 minutes south - G Train: Greenpoint Ave stop, and then walk 10 minutes north - Ferry to either the Greenpoint Ferry stop or the Hunters Point Ferry stop and walk ~ 16 minutes - Uber/Taxi/Car Service: 12 minutes from midtown Manhattan, 20 minutes from Upper East Side, 30 minutes from Chelsea, 35 minutes from Upper West Side For people flying in and going directly to the hotel, consider flying into Laguardia as it is only a 15 minute drive away from the venue!

Question

Is there parking?

Answer

There will not be valet or parking services. However, street parking is plentiful in this area, especially on the weekends, so there should be no issue finding a spot. You can likely find a parking spot on the street within close proximity to the hotel that you will be able to keep overnight. Just please be sure to read all parking signs to ensure that you don't receive a ticket. There are also nearby parking lots within close walking distance to the hotel if needed. The closest option is located at 1 Blue Slip. Please see the accommodations or neighborhood guide tabs for more detail.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Yes! We love you AND your little one(s)! We understand that finding child care or leaving the kids behind may be challenging, so we want to be able to reduce that stress for our guests. If your save the date / invite did not include a child and you would like to bring them along, please reach out and let us know.

Question

Does the hotel allow pets?

Answer

Unfortunately, The Box House does not allow pets unless they are service animals. If you want to stay in town and travel with your pets please use one of the other hotel recommendations or an Airbnb. We are happy to help you find the perfect accommodations, please reach out to us directly so we can assist!
