Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Olivia Edvalson and Cameron Parker
Portland, Maine is known for two things: food + breweries. But there is so much more to do here as well!
Austin St. Brewery

Austin St. Brewery

115 Fox Street, Portland, ME 04101

A combination of indoor and outdoor seating, usually with food trucks on site. Check out their social media to see what’s new and happening that weekend for live music and eats.

Rising Tide Brewery

Rising Tide Brewery

103 Fox Street, Portland, ME 04101

Right beside Austin St. Brewery, you can hop back and forth between these little breweries to compare flights! Proceeds from certain beers benefit local Maine non-profit organizations to protect land and waterways. (Highly recommend the Session IPA Maine Island Trail Ale.)

Apres

Apres

148 Anderson Street, Portland, ME 04101

A short walk from Rising Tide, there's a a dog friendly patio, corn hole, and in house made seltzers + ciders! Apres is one of the newest additions to the Bayside drink scene and is always a hit. A food truck or two usually grace the street on weekends!

Cheese Louise

Cheese Louise

363 Fore Street, Portland, ME 04101

Three words: Artisanal. Grilled. Cheese. If you’re not downing these with one of their house-made maple lemonades, you’re missing out.

Luke's Lobster

Luke's Lobster

60 Portland Pier, Portland, ME 04101

You’re in Portland, you need seafood, but where is the BEST lobster roll? Luke’s! Eat right on the waterfront, watch the boats pass by, and eat lobster that was harvested right from the Gulf of Maine and dropped off at Luke’s own active lobstering dock. It doesn’t get any fresher than that.

Bradbury "Mountain"

Bradbury "Mountain"

528 Hallowell Road, Pownal, ME 04069

Just a half hour outside of the city, this is a great place to take a little nature walk in the morning or afternoon. For all the real outdoorsy friends, leave your gear in the car — toddlers run up it in crocs.

Portland Discovery Land and Sea Tours

Portland Discovery Land and Sea Tours

Long Wharf (middle window at the blue ticket stand), Portland, ME 04101

Explore Casco Bay or the Portland city by boat or trolley! Narrated tours are offered multiple times a day and are a great way to see the area and learn about the history + ecology of Portland and Casco Bay.

Mackworth Island

Mackworth Island

Falmouth, ME 04105

Hop off the mainland for an hour or two on Mackworth island! Walk the trails, dip your toes in at the beaches, and collect sea glass on the shore. This magical island is said to have inspired Stephen King’s novel Pet Cemetery. No boat necessary to access. Mackworth Island is accessible from the Andrews Avenue causeway, which is off US Route 1. From Martin's Point in Portland, go north over the bridge to Andrews Avenue (3rd right); go east along Andrews Avenue to the causeway.
