Point Lobos State Natural Reserve
Just a 6 minute drive from our wedding venue is Point Lobos. Stop for a hike along the ocean bluffs or a picnic with ocean views.
Ocean Avenue
Stroll down Ocean Ave in downtown Carmel to shop one-of-a-kind boutiques, galleries, and restaurants. Keep an eye out for hidden pathways and charming courtyards. Make sure to walk all the way to the end to reach the beautiful Carmel Beach.
Big Sur
To complete the iconic California coast experience, drive down the Pacific Coast Highway (Hwy 1) to Big Sur. Stop for a hike or just admire the views from the road. Some of our favorite spots are hiking at Andrew Molera State Park, seeing the purple sand at Pfeiffer Beach, and admiring McWay Falls at Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park. Don't forget to stop for a photo of Bixby Bridge on your way there!
17 Mile Drive
Drive along the 17-Mile Drive in Carmel for a captivating coastal experience, where you'll encounter dramatic cliffs, iconic landmarks like the Lone Cypress, and stunning vistas of the Pacific Ocean that encapsulate the beauty of California's coastline. This scenic route offers a condensed dose of breathtaking nature and memorable sights in just 17 miles.
Monterey Bay Aquarium
During your time in Carmel, we highly recommend a visit to the world-renowned Monterey Bay Aquarium. Immerse yourself in the captivating marine world and witness the beauty of underwater life up close. Make sure to explore Cannery Row after!
Wine Tasting
If you're coming to California, wine tasting is practically a must! Visit the vineyards of Carmel Valley–just a 10-20 minute drive from the venue–at places like Folktale Winery, Holman Ranch Vineyards, and Bernardus Winery or visit a tasting room in town.
