Recently renovated by the creators of South Park, this pink palace is part theme park, part Mexican restaurant, and total immersive theater. What to Expect: Cliff Divers: High-diving acrobats plunging into a 14-foot deep indoor pool. Black Bart’s Cave: A winding, "spooky" walkthrough for the adventurous. Endless Sopaipillas: Raise the little flag at your table, and warm, honey-drizzled treats will magically appear. The Vibe: Puppet shows, arcade games, and mariachi bands. It’s colorful, chaotic, and kitschy in the best way possible. Pro Tip: Due to its massive popularity, Casa Bonita currently operates on a timed entry system via an email waitlist. Check their website well in advance to see if you can snag a spot!

Great spot for a hike that's nearby with a great brewery at the base! Park at New Terrain. It's a 7.4 mile hike with 1,020 ft in elevation gain.
The Mount Blue Sky Scenic Byway is the highest paved road in North America, offering an awe-inspiring journey to the 14,264-foot summit of Mount Blue Sky. It is a must-visit for guests who want to experience the true scale of the Rockies without a strenuous hike. The drive takes you through ancient bristlecone pine forests and past alpine lakes, with frequent sightings of mountain goats and bighorn sheep. The Summit Experience: At the top, you can take a short, easy stroll to the actual summit for a 360-degree panorama that stretches from the Wyoming border to southern Colorado. Timed Entry Required: To manage crowds and protect the alpine environment, a timed entry reservation is mandatory for all vehicles entering the recreation area. Reservations: Tickets are released on a rolling basis (typically 30 days in advance, with some held for a 2-day-out release). You can book your specific time slot directly through Recreation.gov.

Another great hike, this time in Boulder. We have done this with Steve and Linda in town. It's a short but fairly steep 3.1 mile loop with 1,459 in elevation gain. Beautiful views and Boulder is a fun town to check out after!
Sloan's Lake Park is perfect for those who want a light outdoor activity with some of the best skyline views in the city. The Walk: A paved 2.6-mile loop around the lake offers a great vista of both the Denver skyline and the Rocky Mountains.
A stunning National Park about 90 minutes from Denver, just outside of Estes Park. Lots of trails to explore and it's a scenic drive!
The historic Georgetown Loop Railroad is a scenic 1 hour train ride through the Rocky Mountains, featuring stunning alpine views and the famous Devil’s Gate High Bridge. It’s a fun and memorable activity for guests of all ages to enjoy during their stay.
The Rockies have home games on Friday and Sunday against the KC Royals. Look for Rockpile or Rooftop tickets for a great deal! (~$4-$13) Our baseball team may be terrible but at least the tickets are really inexpensive! ;-)
