How We Met- Traci's Version

Superbowl Sunday

Eddie has a much different story than mine. He will say I was hitting on him all night. That's not the case. And that's not really my style. And do I really need to hit on anyone? Lol... I will say that New York is where our story begins. We met nearly 3 years ago on Superbowl Sunday in Harlem. My best friend, Luam, was having her annual superbowl hang and was hosting a small group of close friends. As I walked in, this cute tall guy in a button-down shirt (looking kind of corporate-ish) was joking around with Jason, Luam's boyfriend. I immediately noticed his smile. Endearing but also kind of mischievous at the same time. I started enjoying myself at the party, eating, drinking, talking to friends. I eventually asked Luam who the tall light-skinned guy was. She replies, "Oh that's Eddie, he's one of Jason's friends who lives in Seattle. He's out here for work." I sighed thinking of course he doesn't live here. After Eddie and I met, we kept chatting here and there throughout the night. Again, he will say I was hitting on him. Towards the end of the night asked me to dinner to the next night. But that's not where the story ended that evening. Eddie took the subway back with my friend, Laura and I . We all had to get off in Time Square because trains were messed up.This is New York in Feb., so it's not warm at all. But we somehow ended up doing an impromptu photoshoot ( by Laura) with my camo pants and Carthart jacket , followed by diner food at Laura's. We had a lot of laughs and didn't end until 2 am ! The next day, we had a quiet dinner at the Ace Hotel restaurant. Here I learned about his seafood & cat allergies, but we also talked about spirituality, religion, and what fuels us. He would then get on a flight and head back to Seattle. We continued to talk in the weeks ahead, over zoom, and eventually in person. He came to visit me in NYC, then in L.A. when I was there for work, and then he wouldn't leave me alone (haha) and the rest is His(Story)......

How We Met - Eddie's Version

Superbowl Sunday

Traci’s story is 90% accurate. The facts are true, we met at Luam’s Superbowl party in Harlem, NY nearly 3 yrs ago. Where the stories differ is the casual chatting and flirtatious behavior of Traci throughout the night. . I did notice Traci when she walked into the condo and I recall telling Jason that Traci is a beautiful lady (other than her camo pants and orange Nike sweater). Traci and I exchanged pleasantries earlier in the night, but after 1 drink I was sitting on the couch and Traci was next to me asking me questions about my visit. I went to the kitchen for a drink, I looked up and Traci joking about my ability to handle another drink. I laughed it off, then walked back to the main room and found my way to the couch and sat near her and Laura, Traci asked me for the first time, “so when are you leaving town?” Late tomorrow night.  Oh, so you have another day in NYC. I didn’t think anything of her response at the moment. Later that evening, Laura asked Luam, Jason, Traci and I to sit on the couch to take a group photo. Traci squeezed onto the couch next to me and leans over me for the photo. A little presumptuous of her to think I am comfortable with her leaning across my body for this photo, but she was cute, so I was okay with it. I went back to the kitchen…. “So when do you leave town??” Um, the same time I told you earlier in the evening. I leave late tomorrow night. This lady has been very flirtatious all night – So I asked, do you want to have dinner before I leave town? Traci, with a big smile on her face, “YES!!!” The next night we had dinner and had a great conversation covering a variety of topics. She called me a Taxi and kissed me on the cheek good night. It was a nice evening, too bad I’ll never see her again I thought to myself. But wait, Traci sent me a text message as I was boarding the plane…. “So fun hangin’. Let’s stay in touch. I look forward to seeing you again soon. I think you’re amazing.” And the rest of the story Traci covered.
