Our story begins in Santa Barbara, where Eddie and Karina went to college at UCSB. It took three years for their paths to cross, but thanks to a little matchmaking by Karina’s friend Jessica, the two met at a sorority date party. While it wasn’t love at first sight, fate had other plans when they bumped into each other a couple of months later at O’Malley’s in downtown Santa Barbara, and the rest was history. From that point on, the two were inseparable. Senior year was filled with unforgettable memories - sunrise walks along Del Playa, afternoons spent in the Funk Zone, and late nights studying together at the library. After graduating in 2018, life took them back to their hometowns - Eddie up north to Walnut Creek, and Karina down south to Whittier. Living nearly 400 miles apart wasn’t easy, but they made it work with countless Facetimes, phone calls, flights, and weekend visits keeping them close through the distance. In 2021, they closed the gap by moving in together to a cozy little apartment in Irvine. Since then, they’ve built a life filled with love and adventure - from road trips along the California coast, exploring different areas of the US, and all the little moments in between. They also brought in a new member of their growing family, a sweet and loving pup named Olive. Fast forward to February: before a weekend getaway to Big Bear, Eddie suggested a “quick detour” to watch the sunset before heading to their dinner reservation. As the sun went down, Eddie dropped to one knee and popped the question. Karina gave the easiest “yes!” of her life, and the three (Olive included, of course) celebrated their engagement in the mountains. We couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead, and are thrilled to celebrate this next milestone at the place where it all started surrounded by family and friends.
