How it started...

We met in May 2023, just over a year after I had moved to Orange County from Los Angeles. Ed had a few ideas for our first date and let me choose which one I preferred - from the list, I only remember sushi dinner or dog beach, and even though sushi is one of my top favorite foods, I wanted to meet his dog first (priorities)! Our first date ended up being a picnic at the dog beach in Huntington Beach, where I lived at the time. Ed brought his golden retriever, Louie, with him and prepared a picnic for us with a bottle of wine and a charcuterie board. I immediately fell in love with Louie and knew I wanted to see Ed again. During our second date, I put my life in his hands by riding the back of his motorcycle down Pacific Coast Hwy so we could have lunch in Laguna Beach. That was my first - and only -time ever riding a motorcycle, so it was a huge act of faith I put in him being a stranger at the time. For context, I had witnessed so many motorcycle accidents growing up in Colombia ( and may or may not have caused one), so I was petrified to ride on a motorcycle. Even though Ed grew up riding and has his expert race license, to this day, I still haven't been on a bike with him again. Our third date was a sunset wine tasting cruise in Dana Point, where he spilled wine on me and got so nervous, someone asked if it was our first date lol! For our proposal, he recreated our first 3 dates: dog beach, lunch in Laguna Beach and finally, had my family and closest friends on the catamaran waiting to surprise me with a private sunset cruise with everyone onboard. So magical and the biggest surprise of my life! We moved in together a few months after that, and here we are! We’re so thankful for the love God has blessed us with. He brought us together, carried us through every step, and has been so good to us. Looking back, we see His hand in every detail, and we’re filled with gratitude. Ed, Louie and I are so full of joy creating this new chapter in our lives and planning our wedding. We can’t wait to celebrate with you - the people we love most - as we begin this next chapter, with God at the center of our marriage.
