Why the lake?

Have you ever traveled to a wedding, and only saw the bride and groom for a total of 4 minutes? We know we have! That is exactly what we didn't want to happen, considering both families will be traveling. We are hoping to see all of you for way more than that, so we have planned a weekend full of activities. Please don't feel obligated to come to all; please pick what you want to, and skip what you don't. We are just happy you can make it!

How We Met

05/27/2018

A lot of life decisions landed us both in the perfect place to meet, in Asheville, NC! Nate from New York, and Ashley from Ohio, we both made the journey to Asheville for different reasons. He moved to Asheville to live with Steve, the Groomsman, bounced around in NC, SC, and GA for work and College, and ended up back in Asheville. She had a vision to move, and after much research decided on Asheville for several reasons including the mountains, the art scene, and the culture. All of this had to happen for us to meet, and on Bumble of all places! After we both matched, we had our first date at Tupelo Honey for brunch. We had a buzzing good time, and it was love at first tree house!

The Engagement

11/24/2019

In good Asheville fashion, the engagement was on top of a mountain. One of our favorite hiking trails is Bearwallow Mountain, and a new trail opened up right across from the trail head that we wanted to try. Nate had designed the ring, and it had taken longer than he expected. As soon as it was finished and picked up, he was so excited that he couldn't hold on to it for more than 48 hours. I was just getting over a pretty nasty virus, but was feeling a bit better, so Nate asked to go on a hike to get some fresh air. Unbeknownst to me, this wonderful virus has turned in to bronchitis, and I about died on the hike. I wanted to turn around several times, but Nate kept saying the end view would be worth it! Two and a half strenuous miles later, we reached the top. I was exhausted, and sat down on a log. Nate says "I am glad you made it...because I was going to ask you to marry me". I was in such disbelief, that I asked "Is there a ring??" and there indeed was, and the rest is history!

For all the days along the way
