Ebonie Jones

Bride

Darryl Lassiter

Groom

Brittany Jones

Maid of Honor

I'm Ebonie's favorite sister! My favorite memory is when Ebonie and DL both came to help me move out of my dorm. We were all together the night before, so everyone was still very tired! I tried to warn them that it wasn’t “thatttt much” stuff. I kept bringing out more and more stuff to put in the truck. Ebonie thought it was a breeze because she would have so much more! DL’s face was hilarious! I could tell he was thinking “you’re just like your sister...too much stuff” but he would never say it! 😂 What they love most about me is that I’m crazy but quiet all in one! Ebonie knows how crazy I am but DL is just starting to find out. I love that they enjoy life no matter what life brings, and share common goals. They always make time for one another, and plan for the future together!

Brandon Judd

Best Man

I'm Darryl's cousin and I remember the day Darryl met Ebonie. I was on my way to A&T to hang out with a woman I was trying to date and she said she had a friend with her, who was Ebonie. So, in order to ensure Ebonie wouldn’t be the third wheel, I asked Darryl to tag along. At first, he was reluctant to go, as he didn't want to be there just to keep the "other friend" busy. But I convinced him to come anyway. Ebonie’s friend and I didn’t grow our relationship further, but who knew that this chance encounter would blossom into the love we are celebrating. What they love most about me is that I was the match maker! I love that their love for each other is genuine. This is evident in how Darryl has found the perfect reflection of his real self in Ebonie, doing all he’s ever wanted to be.

Carmen Snuggs-Cotton

Matron of Honor

I met Ebonie about 8 years ago. Our classrooms were next to each other the rest is history-it was an automatic kinship. We are Shaq and Kobe in the field of Education! I met DL through Eb and I Ioved him before I ever met him because he loves my friend! Our last time at Cheddars was awful. Our server was illiterate, our food was wrong but if you see the pictures we took you would never know all those things were happening. We don't let nonsense impact our time together. What they love most about me is the joy I feel about their union and that I pray for them daily, trusting God to BLESS them richly in ALL things and to keep always focused on the love that brought them together. What I love most about them is the time they put in to nourish and grow their love, relationship and future!

Bridesmaid

I met Ebonie in 1995 when I moved to Connecticut. We were in the same fourth grade class. The teacher had me sit with Ebonie and she explained where everything was. Even back then Ebonie was a teacher! I was so excited to not be the only black kid in the class. Junior year we went on the college tour to visit some East coast HBCUs. It turned out to be quite the adventure. We were 519 room of Dimes-once we made it to Atlanta, we had a bus driver that got lost every where we went and we saw Bugs Bunny do the choppa style! What Ebonie and DL love most about me is probably my child. 😂 The thing I love the most about them as a couple is that they are always there for each other. Knowing 100% that they can lean on and count on each other. It’s a beautiful thing. They are real Black Love.🖤

I'm DL's brother and Ebonie is officially my sister-in-law. A favorite memory I have is when I first met Ebonie at DL's birthday weekend in Myrtle Beach. What the bride and groom love most about me is being silly. What I love about them is that they are the best fit for each other and sooo cute together. Ebonie makes DL look good lol.

Bridesmaid

Ebonie and I were “Honey Bears”. We were in the same kindergarten class. One of my favorite memories was a surprise graduation moment. I was not only shocked but I appreciated the length that Ebbie and the family will go to just to show love and support. What the bride and groom love most about me is my sense of humor! What I love most about them is how beautifully they complement each other, in temperament and just being one good looking couple.

Groomsman

My Dad and DL's Mom are siblings. It’s unfair to single out one favorite memory, when every moment I have shared with them has been nothing but love and laughter! What the bride and groom love most about me is that I’m Ebo's favorite! DL loves when I come over to eat his grilled wings and drink his Crown! I love their bond, the friendship, the understanding and the genuine love they have for one other!

Joyce Ferrell

Bridesmaid

Ebonie and I were in grad school together at UNCG. One of my favorite memories was going to Las Vegas for a conference we attended. We presented together and then had some fun, too! What Eb and DL love about me is that I love to have a good time. I love that both of them are outgoing, caring and kind people.

David Parker

Groomsman

I am Darryl's cousin who grew up like a brother to him. I first met Ebonie in Myrtle Beach, SC around New Year's Eve. We had a great time. My favorite memory of them is when we were in Cozumel, Mexico together. We visited a tequila farm, went to the beach together, and went sight-seeing with Joe the cab driver. What the couple love most about me is the fact that my wife and I are both pharmacists and that we know how to behave ourselves in public. I love that they are goal-oriented and complement each other. Darryl is more sensible and has come a long way since he met Ebonie!

Noel Redmond

Bridesmaid

I am friends with Ebonie. We met when I was a RA in Pride Hall and she was the Grad Director. She always talked about having a heart condition but seemed fine so I never worried about it. One night after our grocery shopping she said she felt dizzy but was okay. The next thing I knew she collapsed! I went into panic mode but called 911. When they arrived Ebonie was back alert and bossily told them to take her to UNC hospital which would have been over an hour drive! They said no, you’re going to Moses Cone. I got to be the hero and we have been sharing life together as friends ever since!!! What the bride and groom love most about me is that I’m crazy and will say whatever I’m thinking! What I love most about them is that they give me hope that a comeback love can workout in the end!

Norman Jones, IV

Groomsman

Ebonie is my older sister and my very first friend! My favorite memory is that time we decided to play "barber and hair stylist" as kids! It was all fun and games until Mom walked in the room! That was the end of my box fro and I'm pretty sure Eb was short a ponytail! Look at us now! What do the bride and groom love about me? What's not to love?! What I love most about them is their ambition! They make a strong couple ready to achieve great things!

Roney James

Bridesmaid

Ebonie and I have been friends since elementary school. It’s been so long that I don’t even remember meeting...just always knowing her like family! I remember meeting up for breakfast with a group of girlfriends like we have so many times when we were all back home in CT at the same time. We were all talking about getting married! Who would get married first? Who never wants to get married? What would it be like? I’m blessed to get to stand by my friend’s side from elementary school until now celebrating all of life’s sweet moments! What I love about our friendship is that we can always pick up right where we left off no matter what! I really love how happy DL makes Ebbie. I can hear her love for him in her voice when we talk (and even in her texts) so I know he definitely has her heart.

Javon Jones

Groomsman

I'm Ebonie's youngest brother. One of my favorite memories with Eb and DL is our road trip home...all the way to Connecticut for Christmas 2019. Hmmm...what does the couple love most about me? What's not to love? LOL! What I love most about them is that opposites attract to create a beautiful balance.

Rhonisha Lassiter

Bridesmaid

I'm DL's cousin. My favorite memories with DL and Ebonie are our family cruises to Cozumel and the Bahamas. What they love most about me is my beautiful spirit. 😉 What I love about them is the way they compliment each other.

Angela Lassiter

Groomswoman

I am DL's cousin. They asked me to share a favorite memory or a funny story. All I have to say is Myrtle Beach!!! LOL...ya saved me! What Ebonie and DL love most about me is my existence, personality, and glow. What I love about them as a couple is their beautiful Black love that embodies power, education and resilience.
