Jules & Libby met in med school and followed each other to Tacoma where they were co-residents and roommates. Julie was gracious enough to tolerate Rudy's stir-crazy nonsense and Joe's fermentation projects after he moved in. She must not be sick of us yet because we now live in the same Spokane neighborhood and work at the same clinic!
Sam Early
Best Man
Sam is Joe's older brother. They met when Joe was brought home from the hospital and Sam realized that his life was forever made better by Joe's presence. Sam sought to teach Joe things like how to write letters left handed but Joe was fiercely independent so now he writes in reverse with his right hand.
Katie Carmer
Honorary MOH
Katie (then-Buetow) and Libby were randomly assigned to be freshman roommates at Notre Dame. They shared giggles, heartbreaks, dance parties and Grandma Helene's care packages in Lewis Hall Room 220 while forming the roots of a lifelong friendship. Katie, a native of the Mitten State, now lives in Phoenix, AZ where she works for an education non-profit and plays cello in a bluegrass band. She is expecting her first baby in August and will be at home nesting :)
Martha Early
Officiant
Joe's younger sister graciously agreed to officiate the wedding and we couldn't be more thrilled! Martha will be coming all the way from Manhattan where she is a social worker and has been undergoing a rigorous training program at the New York Institute for People Who Want to Do Weddings Good. We're delighted about all the wonderful new and flashy things that Martha will be bringing to our ceremony and you won't want to miss out on this East Coast Sensation!
All Children Are Invited!!!
Flower Children
We would like to invite any and all children to participate in a children's parade during the ceremony. There is no particular dress code. We will have a kiddie wrangler and petals to toss!
