Will the Covid-19 outbreak impact the wedding?

Answer

We are saddened by the global pandemic situation, and our thoughts have been with everyone affected. As of today we are on schedule with our wedding date. The health and safety of our guests is important to us, so if anything changes we will update our website. We hope you continue to be safe and support those who are on the front lines of this disease.

Will masks be required? How about physical distancing?

Answer

YES. All guests must bring and plan to wear a mask. The ceremony will be outdoors (weather permitting), and we have reserved a large space within Avalon Manor for the reception. The health of all of our guests is very important to us. Please practice physical distancing where possible and keep each other safe. If you are sick, or have been exposed to Covid in the prior 14 days, PLEASE stay home. As much as we'd love to celebrate with you we want to keep everyone safe.

How can I keep updated on Covid guidelines for Indiana?

Answer

Indiana is currently (as of October) in phase 5 of their reopening plan. Their timeline changes as needed to respond to the pandemic. All venues must follow CDC guidelines. We recommend checking https://backontrack.in.gov/ for the most up-to-date information to make your decision on whether you are comfortable attending our wedding. These are unprecedented times and we completely support your decision. Avalon Manor strictly follows all CDC and IN guidelines. Staff will be wearing gloves and masks throughout the evening. Hand sanitizer will be available and staff will frequently clean all high-touch areas.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

You can arrive as early as you like, but keep in mind the ceremony will be outdoors. The gazebo will be set up approximately an hour before the ceremony. The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:30 pm and end at 6:00 pm.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

You are welcome to show up as you wish. However we prefer to celebrate in style! Wear your cocktail attire & party with flair. :)

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Your invitation will indicate the number of seats we've reserved for you. We appreciate your effort to adhere to that number. If that changes please reach out to one of us as soon as possible.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Your invitation will indicate the number of seats for children we've reserved for you. We would like to be conscious of having small children at the reception. If possible, we ask that children under age 10 not attend. We hope this will help you enjoy your time at our wedding!

There is ample parking space at Avalon Manor!

Please see our "Travel" section for hotel information. Avalon Manor is conveniently located near a number of hotels off of US Route 30 in Merrillville, Indiana.
