How We Met

06/10/2018

Are we High-school Sweethearts you might ask? Nahhh , not quite ! Marqell and I went to the same high school together. We had one class together in freshman year but we never really talked. It turns out we had a couple of mutual friends too. Fast forward a few more years then comes senior year. We are now in the same Early College Program and actually start to build a great friendship. Fast forward a few more months comes June 9th, 2018. Our graduation day! Luckily, our last names "Boyd" and "Britt" are pretty close together so we were able to sit one seat away from each other. We were with each other for half of the day. Then the next day on June 10th, 2018, he asked my parents for their blessings to ask me out and here we are five years later, getting married!

The Proposal

01/14/2023

On this day we actually began one of our newest tradition, which was going on Alphabet dates. This was our first date of the year so we began with the letter "A". On this day we first went axe throwing...turns out he's really good at it. Then we went to AMC Cinema to watch the new Avatar movie. Right when we got there it started to snow a bit and by the time we got out it was freezingggg cold! Yet, he still insisted we go to city center to have a photoshoot. I definitely knew something was up because him wanting to take pictures and me in the freezing cold just sounded very suspicious. As we head to the photshoot area, I see some awfully familiar cars along the way. His friend met us to take some cool photos. After we finished, we (me nervously walking) walked near a gazebo which displayed Led letters that spelled "Marry Me" on the ground. Due to the strong and cold wind, other things were blowing away or unable to stand yet it still looked very romantic. He then got on his knees and asked me to marry him. The feelings are indescribable. We're truly blessed to have one another and it has been nothing but joy. P.S. How lucky am I? He was sweet enough to propose to me again a few days later because his friend failed to get everything on camera. He set everything up again the way he intended too and proposed again. Which came with a thousand more "yeses".
