Orta San Giulio represents a time of healing and renewed joy for us after cancer treatment. Its beauty and peaceful atmosphere made it the perfect place to celebrate our love.
A favourite place for romantic souls, the village is a maze of picturesque streets and narrow cobbled lanes, flanked by old stone walls with doorways topped with triangular architraves. The little squares, reminiscent of the campielli of Venice, are enlivened by the presence of craft boutiques, antique shops and lively cafés. https://www.illagomaggiore.com/destination/orta-san-giulio/
Daytime: High 70s, low 80s (°F) Nightime: High 50s, low 60s (°F) The reception will be near a lake, so it will be cooler in the night.

Orta is a very small, charming town (about 7 square miles) and is largely pedestrian-friendly. The historic town center is a restricted traffic zone (ZTL) for non-residents, meaning visitors must park just outside the center. There are several convenient parking areas available, both open-air and covered, though most are paid lots. If you are staying exclusively in Orta, a car is not necessary. You can easily pre-book a private transfer to pick you up from the airport and take you directly to your hotel, and arrange the same for your return. If you plan to explore beyond Orta and visit the surrounding areas, renting a car is recommended. For additional details, please see the Travel section of this website.

Orta has beautiful weather, so our ceremony will be outdoors. Our reception is outdoors as well with indoor access for dancing. Dinner will be served under tents. Villa Decio has many great photos online that will give you a better idea of what to expect!
Yes! We will have a shuttle for everyone from Orta (specific location TBD) to/from Villa Decio.
Unfortunately no. There is very limited parking space in the driveway and the road to get up to the Villa is windy and can be tricky (we’ve done it and it’s tough). We need the limited space for the shuttles, so we ask that you use the shuttles we are providing. Please do not bring your car, you will be asked to turn around.
Upon arrival you will be greeted with a selection of Welcome Drinks to enjoy before the ceremony.
We kindly ask that you turn off your devices for our ceremony. We will have a photographer there and promise to share the photos as soon as we get them!
After the ceremony, the wedding party will be taking pictures nearby for around an hour. We will be serving amuse bouche and finger foods in the meantime during cocktail hour. Additionally there will be a butcher station, cheese station, and fried food station along with beverages and cocktails. Dinner will be served followed by dancing and dessert.
Yes! There will be an open bar for guests to enjoy throughout cocktail hour and the reception.
Of course! We want everyone to be included. Please let us know your restrictions as soon as possible in the RSVP so we can ensure you are taken care of.
Please save your luggage space! Physical gifts are absolutely not necessary! If you do choose to browse our wedding registry, however, any items on the list can be shipped directly to our home address.
