Horse Back Riding Adventures at Sylvan Dale Guest Ranch

Sylvan Dale offers horseback rides through gentle terrain to extended climbing rides with ridge-top views. Our 3,200 acres offer a “don’t fence me in” riding experience for all ages and abilities. Head up Sulzer Gulch shaded by cottonwoods; explore the old wagon trails on Alexander Mountain; climb the rocky slopes of Eagle Ridge; ride across the meadows on Green Ridge; or catch the breathtaking view from the Rim Ride.

Fly Fishing for Wedding Guests – If you have your own fly-fishing equipment, you can have access to the Main Ranch River for a rod fee of $45/day. Bass Fishing at Sylvan Dale Guest Ranch

Bass Fishing for Wedding Guests – All bass fishing must currently be arranged through our Colorado Youth Outdoors partners. They can only accommodate us between the months of June and September. Bass fishing happens off-property and is $100 per 2-hour session for a group size of 12 fishers. All materials are supplied. No age limit. Please call Sylvan Dale's front desk to inquire.

Devil's Backbone Open Space

Red-tailed hawks soaring above, grasslands carpeted with wildflowers, towering rock formations - these are just some of the natural features to be enjoyed at the 3,007-acre Devil's Backbone Open Space. It has 17.25 miles of trail that connect to Rimrock Open Space and Horsetooth Mountain Open Space for hiking, running, horseback riding, mountain biking, wildlife viewing, observing nature, as well as enjoying close-up inspection of the rock outcrop and long vistas.
