FAQs

Question

What does a wedding on Halsey Island look like?

Answer

Getting to and from the ceremony requires a short boat ride (if you have any concerns or questions about this, please do not hesitate to reach out to Dylan or Isabelle). As we get closer to the wedding, we will have scheduled boat departure times and will ask guests to arrive to the marina by their assigned time. Halsey Island has no roads and only dirt paths, and there is a slight incline to get to the middle of the island, which is where all events will take place outside and under tents. If you need assistance getting to the field from the boat and back, there will be vehicles that can provide rides at any time. We will have a boat available to bring anyone back to the marina in case of emergency, but we will provide a schedule of boat departure times for the end of the night. We know this isn’t your typical wedding venue, so if you have any questions about anything else please do not hesitate to ask!

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Since getting to the island requires a boat ride, we will send everyone their scheduled boat departure time as the wedding day nears.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love all of your kids, we will just be having our ring bearers and flower girls joining us for the ceremony and reception!

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Cocktail attire and comfortable shoes! Wear cocktail dresses (fun prints and colors are encouraged!), and jackets and dress pants. Since you will be walking on dirt paths and grass for most of the day, please wear flat shoes or short block heels.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

There are limited parking spaces at the marina, so please let either Isabelle or Dylan know ahead of time if you need to drive straight to the marina. Otherwise, we ask that you use the shuttle that will run to and from the Holiday Inn.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your invitation includes and option for a plus one, then yes! We look forward to celebrating with you and your guest. Although we would love to offer a plus one to all guests, we have a strict guest list to accommodate size restrictions. We appreciate your understanding and can't wait to celebrate with you!
