How we Met

it all started with a pair of sunglasses

Dana and Dylan met on an exceptionally sunny day in Washington, D.C., at the H Street Festival. What began as a quick introduction by mutual friends (over a tequila shot…) turned into an hour-long conversation about everything from family and their careers to, of course, the Detroit Lions. Dylan even sent a picture of himself to Dana’s mother, introducing himself as the cute midwestern boy that her daughter was chatting with at the bar. Needless to say, the connection was instant. Dylan knew he had to take Dana out on a “real” date, and asked for her number. She was hesitant at first, unsure if the “meet-cute” was too good to be true. Dylan, slick as ever, took his sunglasses off and put them on Dana’s head. He told her, “Now you have my favorite sunglasses, so I have to see you again.” With that, he gave her a kiss on the cheek, and off he went—leaving Dana, and a gallery of her friends, impressed and speechless. As it turns out, there was an unexpected metaphor hidden in the way they met—they were headed for a bright, sunny future filled with fun, romance, and leaps of faith in the name of love.

The Proposal

A lifetime of adventure ahead

Since that day in 2014, Dana and Dylan became inseparable. From D.C. to N.Y., and everything in between, one thing has always been clear: the love they share is real, magnetic, and boundless. Last spring, Dylan proposed to Dana at Blue Hill Stone Barns with the very same sunglasses that he gave her on the first day they met. She, of course, said yes and as they looked out into the beautiful Hudson Valley scenery, they saw more than just a wedding ahead—they envisioned a lifetime together filled with infinite possibilities and countless adventures.
