We did the "Mex-ology" tour and it is still one of our favorite excursion/tours we have ever done! Puerto Vallarta is known for their food and we loved the mix of food, culture, and city history. We highly recommend! We have also heard good reviews on their "Original Downtown Tour". I'm sure they are all amazing.
We had a great time with this tour. You will ATV to the top of the mountain, zipline down, ride mules back to the start, and finish with a tequila tasting. The tour guides were great.
See here for activities and excursions hosted by the hotel. Many are included with your stay, while some have an extra fee -- get all the info here.
For anyone looking to get off the resort for a few hours, we love walking around downtown Puerto Vallarta! The boardwalk, called the "Malecon" has many fun shops, bars, and restaurants.
If you do the food tour above, this will be one of your stops. If not, we highly recommend stopping for the fish tacos and an Ancho Mezcal Martini! An easy uber ride from the hotel.
The El Pastor tacos from Pancho's Takos are amazing! You will see a line out the door and down the street nearly all hours of the day, and for good reason. Well worth the wait! Also an easy uber ride from the hotel.
This will be a little over an hour drive, but for anyone staying longer you may want to check it out. Sayulita, the charming town located north of Puerto Vallarta that was at one time just a quiet fishing village, has in recent years evolved into one of the area’s most popular destinations for day trips amongst visitors. People are drawn to this seaside gem in large part because it has such a relaxing atmosphere.
The hotel blog is constantly being updated with short articles on the city and things to do, definitely worth checking out!
This is one of our favorite taco places, famous for their Al Pastor tacos! This is also where we will host the welcome party. You may see this listed in google as "Taqueria Sonorita" or "Tacos Sonorita Olas Altas". Just confirm you are at the address listed here!
