We met at a wedding (!) in Oregon in March of 2018 (shoutout to Tom and Melissa!) Jeff went to high school with the bride, Dusty went to college with the groom. They danced to "Shut Up and Dance" which was pretty perfect since Jeff doesn't talk much anyway, though it's pretty noteworthy that he was dancing! Dusty asked for his number and promptly texted him from two feet away. She was wildly impressed by his response, which included multisyllabic words and proper punctuation. Then they returned to their respective homes: Jeff to Los Angeles CA and Dusty to Charlotte NC. After many lengthy getting-to-know-you emails, they went on a real date three weeks later when Dusty happened to be in Orange County CA for a rabbi conference. Jeff brought her a fountain pen, which led to a few weeks of real live letter writing as if it were the 1800s. At the end of that evening, he offered to drive her to the airport the next day and she figured that anyone willing to brave LAX was probably a keeper. Little did they know how much time they would each spend in and around airports on their way to each other. Dusty fell in love with Jeff's smile, the thoughtful, methodical way he considers just about everything, and the way he takes care of the people around him. She also thinks he's pretty cute. Jeff fell in love with Dusty's cleverness, her dimples, and the ferocious way she cares about all humans. He is also enamored by her dedication to "woowoo" and her willingness to discuss any topic, no matter how boring. We're excited to continue this forever journey of figuring out how this whole life things works - and we're also pretty stoked to someday live in the same place!
