Please join us at the Davidson Family Farm for our wedding celebrations! Your GPS may say “route includes unpaved roads”— don’t be alarmed! The farm is on an unpaved road. The venue is outdoors, so dress according to the weather and choose appropriate footwear (heels are ok- though maybe choose a block heel!). If you are staying for the after party, please feel free to BYOB, BYOcamp chair, and a change of comfy and warm clothes. We are so excited to see you all!
Ruby's Version of Events: I was out on the town with my best friend after graduating college when Dustin approached us. He had gone to elementary school with Bridgitte, and hadn't seen her in years. She introduced us and we chatted a bit before going back to our own friend groups. Some time later, I had become pretty intoxicated and Dustin was a true gentleman, helping me outside, ordering me a cab, and PAYING for it. I repaid him by sloppily kissing him before heading home. After that, we ended up hanging out almost every single day for a few weeks straight before he finally called me his girlfriend. Dustin's Version of Events: Almost everything Ruby said was correct; although, she missed some details. I'm pretty sure she only remembers that night from my comical take of events when people ask how we met. Was she loaded? Yes. Was she blinking her eyes at different times? Yes, but this is all after we hit it off. I like to think I talked her into attending the same college, St. Rose, for my undergrad and her graduate program. We found out we had been part of the same friend groups for years and never met. We had the one of the easiest, most fluid conversations about life, far beyond small talk immediately. The type of conversation like it was meant to happen.
On December 13, 2019, we were on our way to Dustin's work Christmas Party in Portland, Maine. I slept the entire car ride there, as I always do on any treks longer than 20 minutes. Dustin pulled into our favorite spot, Wells Beach, for a pit stop. Wells was a special place where we took our first vacation together (within weeks of meeting one another) and where we revisited every year. Dustin asked me to take a walk on the beach with him, and begrudgingly, I agreed (after much cajoling and convincing) and we walked on the beach in December. Out of nowhere it seemed, Dustin got down on one knee, and even as I saw the little blue box, I had convinced myself he was just giving me a pair of earrings. It wasn't until he actually said the words, "Will you marry me?" that I realized what was happening. We had been together for almost 9 years, and I was still completely surprised. I immediately started crying, partly because I was so happy, and partly because I felt so awful for being such a rag moments before- I almost ruined his proposal! As we kissed and hugged, Dustin informed me that a photographer had been there the entire time, and had caught everything on camera. Some of these beautiful shots are featured here. Later, we went to his work party and ate, drank, danced, and celebrated all night!
