ATTENTION: The bride and groom are politely requesting that ALL attendees (ceremony and reception) provide proof of having received the COVID vaccine, or plan to obtain and provide proof of a negative COVID test completed within 24-48 hours prior to the wedding celebration. Additional information can be found below, so please take a look! We understand there are varying thoughts and beliefs that surround both COVID-19 and the COVID vaccine, and we wish to be respectful of those viewpoints; however, due to some family members/friends being unable to receive the vaccine and/or being considered high risk should they become infected, we have deemed this to be a necessary precaution. We are not willing to risk the safety and well-being of our family and friends. If you are unwilling or unable to follow through with our request we are asking you to please RSVP no— know that you will be missed very much and we look forward to an opportunity to celebrate with you once it is safe to do so. With love, Jordyn Kelso & Dustin Dukes
While we are absolutely looking forward to our upcoming wedding celebration in October, we feel it is necessary to put in place some cautionary measures in regards to COVID. We are paying close attention to the recommendations and guidelines of local, state, and national health authorities and the precautions that will be taken for our wedding celebration will reflect these guidelines, as well as current data on COVID and its variants. We hope you understand that we are taking this very seriously because we care about the health and safety of our family and friends! Before we get to the really important stuff, here are a few additional pointers/tidbits: - The City of Kansas City is currently under an emergency order until 10/7 which requires everyone to wear a mask/facial covering. This will most likely still be the case on 10/16. - We will be providing masks and hand sanitizer for our guests. Please use these liberally! - Make sure to wash your hands frequently! - If you haven’t received your COVID vaccine yet, we strongly recommend you do so ASAP!
1. Proof of vaccination* is being requested in order to be able to attend our wedding celebration. Our guests who are pregnant or cannot get the vaccination are exempt from this, but we still need to know your vaccination status for seating/social distancing purposes. For guests who have not been able to get the vaccine yet, proof of negative COVID test** is absolutely, 100% mandatory. [* “Proof of vaccination” = your CDC vaccine card or a picture of it. ** “Proof of negative test” = screenshot/picture of your negative test result ] 2. We are asking guests to take their temperature before traveling to our wedding venue. If you are running a fever (or have a cough or any other COVID symptoms), even if it is mild, please DO NOT come to the wedding festivities. We will definitely miss you if you cannot make it, but the health and safety of our guests is top priority. 3. Wearing a mask will be strongly encouraged for the entirety of our wedding festivities. Obviously you cannot wear a mask while eating or drinking. We understand. Also, if the guidelines above are strictly observed, then masking will hopefully not be as big of a deal. Again, we hope you understand how important it is to us to keep everyone as safe and healthy as possible. We know wearing masks, getting vaccinated, and social distancing are not fun, but we would greatly appreciate your consideration and cooperation.
