Traveler’s Tips for Your Vermont Adventure!

We’re so excited that many of you are making a road trip out of your visit to Vermont! Whether you're here for a long time, or just a good time, there’s plenty to explore. Here are a few suggestions: ** In "mainland" Vermont ** If you’re up for a little adventure in the days before/after wedding festivities, head to Stowe for stunning hikes and a charming, small-town feel. Or, spend a day in Burlington—rent a bike, cruise along the lake, and hit up the Causeway. While you’re there, be sure to check out some of Burlington’s awesome local breweries for a taste of Vermont’s finest. Don’t miss Church Street Marketplace, a lively pedestrian street filled with great shops, restaurants, and street performers. ** Before you head to North Hero ** Stores and amenities thin out once you’re on the islands -- stop by Shaw’s in Colchester to load up on snacks and drinks, especially if traveling with kids! ** Stops on the way in ** Along your drive out to North Hero, don’t miss Seb's Snackbar for a maple creemee (a VT delicacy) local gift shop. For a little more local flavor, stop by Snow Farm Winery, Two Heroes Brewery, or Allenholm Farms to pick some fresh apples on your way in. Or dip your toes in Lake Champlain at Sand Bar State Park. ** On the Islands ** > Swing by Hero’s Welcome for essentials, gifts, and great lunchtime sandwiches. > For casual eats, check out Blue Paddle Bistro, The Feral Fox Pub & Grill at Lakewood Links golf course, The Pier Bar, or Bravo Zulu (those last three have great lake viewwwws). > For more upscale brunch or dinner, visit North Hero House Inn & Restaurant or Shore Acres Inn & Restaurant (reservations recommended!). On Sunday, we'll be hosting a brunch-time cookout — great food, good vibes, and the perfect way to end the weekend! And don’t worry, we’ve got dinner covered for both Friday and Saturday nights.
