Yes, traditional attire in the wedding colours.
Lagos is made up of two main parts – the island and the mainland. The mainland is where the airport is, then the island is about a 30 minutes drive from the mainland when there is no traffic. But in December (Detty December) please prepare for MAJOR traffic. The journey between the island and mainland can easily get to 2 hours. You have to drive along third mainland bridge to get from the mainland to the island. The island is more developed and similar to the standards of Namibia/SA/UK in terms of infrastructure, roads, environment etc. The island has areas like Ikoyi, Victoria Island, Lekki, Banana Island and Aja. The island is also where most activities are – theatres, beaches, concerts, shows etc. The mainland is less developed but has nice areas and spots too. The wedding will be on the mainland in a nice area called Ikeja, GRA. Accommodation on the mainland will be relatively cheaper and that is where the wedding party is staying. Nice mainland areas are Ikeja, Maryland, Anthony and Magodo Phase 2. One thing to keep in mind is to ensure you check reviews of your accommodation before payment. Recommended hotels and shortlet agent has been included in the travel window.
For guests not based in Nigeria, once you purchase the asoebi material it will be dispatched to your chosen tailor/designer. You will contact the tailors directly via WhatsApp/Instagram, send them the style you want and get the costs of tailoring from them. Cost of dispatch will be included in the asoebi price. The tailor will let you know what measurements they need based on your style, you’ll take your measurements and send to them. Continue to be in communication with the tailors throughout, asking for updates on your dress and pictures. December is a busy time so stay woke. Once you arrive in Nigeria, you’ll go for your fitting so consider that in your travel dates. See wedding attire window for recommendation for tailors.
