Getting to Martha’s Vineyard

There are two ways to get to the island of Martha’s Vineyard, plane or ferry. The ferry options are listed below. If you choose to fly directly to the island please visit https://mvyairport.com/mvy-route-map/ to figure out the best route for you. If you prefer to fly to Boston Logan Airport, there is a Peter Pan Bus that picks you up from Logan Airport (it also makes a stop at South Station if you prefer to train to Boston) and the final stop is the Steamship Authority Ferry in Woods Hole, MA. Island Queen

Passenger Ferry

The Island Queen leaves from Falmouth, MA and docks in Martha’s Vineyard in the town of Oak Bluffs. This is a passenger only ferry. Tickets can be purchased online in advanced. https://islandqueen.com/ To get from Oak Bluffs to Edgartown please contact Stagecoach cab company or use the island’s expansive public transportation system. Please note, there is on-site parking at the ferry terminal in Falmouth, MA.


Steamship Authority

Car Ferry/Passenger Ferry

If you would like to bring your car on island the only car ferries are through the Steamship Authority. These ferries leave from Woods Hole, MA and dock in either Oak Bluffs or Vineyard Haven. Walk on passengers can also ride. Tickets and reservations can be made at https://www.steamshipauthority.com/reserve/175519564175/select_dates. Car reservations for the Summer/Fall of 2026 open on February 3rd 2026 at 8:00AM. If you are a walk-on passenger there is parking for the ferry located at 286 Palmer Ave, Falmouth, MA 02540. If you park here the Steamship Authority will bus you to the ferry terminal where you will hop on the ferry.
