It all started with a morning hike up Champlain Mountain, hanging off cliffs and wiping sweat from our faces. Once we reached the top, we had an apple, chugged water and continued down the mountain to our next hike. On our second summit, called the Beehive, we took a small trail leading us to a beautiful pond nestled between a dense forest, known as “The Bowl”. We rested, soaking in the incredible view we had all to ourselves. In Acadia National Park, there are 150 miles worth of trails and is the most visited park in the states. Here it was quiet, peaceful and private. In this moment, Dustin pulled a sapphire colored ring box out of his pocket and said “I want to visit all of the national parks with you, go to all of the Avett Brother concerts and spend nights out or in with our dogs.” He then got down on one knee and asked to me to marry him. Without an ounce of doubt, I said yes. We couldn’t be happier and are so excited to celebrate our love with our closest friends and family.
