The newlyweds-to-be currently reside in Seattle, WA. Nathan is a recent alum of Seattle University School of Law and an attorney at Stokes Lawrence. Jessica is a research scientist at the University of Washington studying virology, specifically SARS-CoV-2 and other human coronaviruses. In their spare time, Jessica and Nathan enjoy exploring wineries, watching the Oregon Ducks and Seahawks football, and hiking with their beloved Golden Retriever, Finn.
Nathan and Jessica first crossed paths during the springtime in 2014 at the University of Oregon. Nathan had recently transferred from Oberlin College and Jessica was into her sophomore year. Jessica's friends convinced her go to a college party, though she was very reluctant. It was there that Nathan saw Jessica from across the crowded room, and just knew he had to say hello. As he made his way through a sea of people, he accidentally stepped on Jessica's foot! After many apologies, a lot of laughter, and some cheeky banter, they finally got to talking. The rest is history!
On a brisk Northwest morning, Nathan dragged Jessica out of bed bright and early and drove to a special shared spot on the boardwalk of Point Defiance Park. They came across a heart-shaped nest of rose petals laid on the ground, and Nathan got down on one knee while a friend captured pictures from some bushes! They then headed to a park picnic with Jessica's family to celebrate. We didn't expect to be engaged quite this long, but are happy the wedding is able to take place this year!
