Visas - all US citizens can enter Canada with a valid passport. Please make sure that it's not expired and has your signature! If you have a passport from a different country please check visa requirements ahead of time as they may require some processing time before travel. Search "Canada Border Services Agency" or type "https://cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/" into your browser to find visa information by country. Currency - most US credit cards will work in Canada but may incur a small foreign transaction fee (typically about 2.5% of the transaction total but can vary). Similarly, you can withdraw money from ATM's in Canada for a withdrawal fee depending on the ATM. Most vendors in Vancouver and Squamish take card, so carrying a large amount of cash is not necessary. Phone - please check to see if your phone plan includes coverage in Canada (most major US phone plans do). If it does include coverage in Canada, you will have to turn your cellular data roaming ON so that your phone gets service in Canada. See link in "Travel & Accommodation" section of this website for a guide on how to do that for both IOS and Android. If your phone plan does not include coverage in Canada, or if you will be charged high fees for coverage in Canada, we recommend looking at purchasing a digital sim card for your time in Canada. Search "digital sim card for travel to Canada" to explore options. We recommend a service called "Airalo" but there are many good options
