COVID-19 Update

We are continuing as planned with the wedding celebration on Saturday, October 24. Fortunately, the entire event will be outside, with plenty of space for guests to spread out. We are also committed to keeping our guests safe and healthy by adhering to the latest CDC guidelines at the time of the event. To provide our vendors with the most accurate headcount information, we kindly ask that you please RSVP online by October 1st to let us know if you will be attending or not. For any reason you cannot attend, we completely and wholeheartedly understand. If at any point you become uncomfortable with attending, come in contact with someone who has COVID-19, or feel sick in the days leading up to our wedding, we ask for you to please stay home to keep the rest of our guests safe. Please also update your RSVP status on our website, as this is the data we rely on for catering and vendor headcount purposes. Be sure to check this page periodically for the most up-to-date information leading up to the big day!

Our Story

Our story began in Houston, back in December 2016. While Renee had been friends with Devin’s sister-in-law, Rhonda, for quite some time, the two had never formally met. It wasn’t until Devin’s brother, Ryan, casually suggested that Renee and Devin would make a good pair. After a few seemingly “arranged” meet ups with mutual friends, we quickly realized that we had some very uncommon similarities and hit it off immediately. It’s not every day that you meet someone who will go to a hole-in-the-wall bar for some live country music, then go to an EDM festival like Voodoo Fest in New Orleans the following weekend. Our eclectic taste in music, passion for the outdoors but love for the city life, and never-ending cravings for sushi and craft beer (sometimes together!) quickly reassured us that we were meant for each other. Within weeks of meeting each other, we were inseparable and always enjoyed each others company. Three years worth of memories, countless trips to Devin’s family ranch and one yellow lab puppy later, we’re finally engaged!

The Proposal

Over the Thanksgiving holiday, Devin proposed to Renee while doing what they love at one of their favorite places. We spent the long weekend in Wimberley at Mad Cat Ranch (Devin’s family ranch) with both of our families there. While driving around the ranch, Devin made an unplanned detour to “check some fencing”. He drove up to one of his favorite spots on the ranch that has the best view overlooking the hill country. The only problem was that the fog was so thick that day, you could barely see 10 feet in front of you! Even though his rehearsed line of “the only thing more beautiful than this view is you” didn’t resonate as well as it would have on a clear sunny day, it was still the most perfect and intimate moment for the two of us and Renee eagerly said “Yes!” to the proposal.
