Travel Note
We have put together an 8 page document with all the info you should need in helping you to start planning your trip. While we love the idea of you all travelling to attend our big day we genuinely want all of our guests to embrace this opportunity to fall in love with this place, just like we have by having the holiday of a lifetime before and after.
Hotel
We have arranged 15 King Rooms for the 2nd - 6th April (nights we are there) for any of our guests keen to stay close to us in Cape Town. Rates include breakfast daily and cots are available for those with cot sized bambinos. If anyone requires additional space there are larger apartment style rooms available. The larger rooms can also cater for an additional bed for your larger than cot size bambinos. If you would like to book alternative dates or like the sound of a larger room please contact Lezel Daniels (Lezel.Daniels@proteahotels.com) at the hotel directly and tell her you are with the Kennedy Wedding. We recommend booking accommodation in Cape Town sooner rather than later as there are a few key school holidays happening around that time.
Train
For anyone with international flights entering South Africa via Jo'burg you may like to consider taking the Shosholoza Meyl Tourist Class sleeper train between Cape Town and Jo'burg. Joe took this train in 2014 and thought it was pretty great. If travelling from Cape Town to Jo'burg it is very scenic, departing Cape Town at about 10am and departing the Western Cape via the mountains and on to the Karoo, South Africa's arid interior, arriving in Jo'burg midday the following day. It is comfortable, safe and has a restaurant car onboard. Also, a great way to meet fellow travellers and locals alike.
