Veterans Park
The park on the lake. Great for a late summertime stroll with a view of the Milwaukee Skyline.
Riverwalk
The Milwaukee River runs right through downtown and joins Lake Michigan at the Third Ward. We walk this route as much as we can in the summer. The walk also boasts the cutest statues in the city -- look out of the baby ducks!
Deer District
Bucks games are one of our favorite MKE activities. Even though it's not basketball season, the Deer District has lots going on with fun restaurants and bars.
Historic Third Ward
Milwaukee's most popular neighborhood and a brunch haven. Home to the Public Market. We love the palapa (tiki bar) attached to St. Paul's Fish Market. Restaurants we like in the Third Ward include: Smoke Shack, DanDan, and Tre Rivali. There's also a beautiful rooftop at the Journeyman Hotel, the Outsider.
Points East Pub
Best wings in the city and our neighborhood favorite.
Odd Duck
We ate here to celebrate our engagement. Lots of small plates to try, everything is amazing.
Crossroads Collective
Can't decide what to eat? We have that problem all the time and this is our go-to. There are 7-8 food stalls with options from barbecue to pasta to a raw bar for oysters. There's also a fun brewery across the street, Hacienda.
Purple Door Ice Cream
Ben can't get enough of the peanut butter ice cream, Melissa likes the graham cracker with raspberry sauce. There are no bad choices. The line wraps around the store in the summer, but worth the wait!
Eagle Park Brewing
Our neighborhood brewery with great food! We love their crazy sour beers.
Fink's
One of our favorite bars. Has fun drinks, an amazing patio, and cornhole (Ben usually wins). They don't serve food but across the street is BelAir Cantina for tacos.
