If you are headed to the Outer Banks on 152 South, you'll pass Morris Farm on the right hand-side about an hour from Corolla. It is an absolute must stop to stock up on fresh fruit, amazing baked goods and local produce. If you're lucky, they may have some live music playing while you shop. If you explore the shop enough, you'll find some fun farm animals! Fun fact, this is the farmers market Drew and I stopped at when we saw a women selling puppies and fell in love with our newest member of the family, Tucker.
On your way in, before you head over to Corolla, stop by Mama Kwan's for lunch. It is about 15 minutes out of the way in Kill Devil Hills, but so worth it! Our favorites are the fish tacos, the seared tuna appetizer and the pork plate.
If you need a pick me-up on your way in, stop by Shore Coffee Roasters about 30 minutes from Corolla and grab a coffee.
This coffee shop is about 10 minutes from the Hampton Inn hotel and Crew Quarter. It is a great place to grab a coffee and shop around the charming Duck area.
If you come in early before the wedding festivities start or extend your trip and want to explore the Outer Banks more, head down the beach road to Nags Head and check out the Smith families favorite hang out spot. This beach bar is right on the water with great food and live music.
If you hung out at Fish Heads and are craving a sweet treat, be sure to stop at Fat Boyz for some ice cream on the way out. Most of our memories here at the Outer Banks include Fat Boyz.
This would be an awesome activity to do if you have some time! Fun Fact - Corolla and Currituck counties are known for having the only remaining wild herd of Spanish Mustangs in the world! The horses are wild and are free to wander up and down the beaches or throughout the neighborhoods as they please.
If you are in the mood to shop, check out Urban Cottage in Duck. They have the best selection of coastal home decor, trinkets and gifts.
