Flight
Key West has only one airport and this is the easiest way to get to our lovely island. But if you don't mind the drive then you can fly into Miami or Fort Lauderdale and take a few hours drive while enjoying views of turquoise water.

Travel Note
Although the best way to arrive is by plane, many choose to drive down and enjoy the scenic route. From Miami International Airport: Take LeJeune Road south to 836 West. Take the Florida Turnpike south toward Key West. The Turnpike ends at US 1 in Florida City. Follow U.S. 1 south as far as it goes and you will be in Key West. From Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, exit the airport and follow the signs for 595 West. Take 595 to the Florida Turnpike and follow the signs for the Florida Keys and Key West. From the North, take the Florida Turnpike south and follow the signs for Homestead and Key West. Take your time on this drive. The speed limits are strictly enforced, especially in the 14 mile Key Deer zone where the speed is 35 at night and 45 during the day. Once in Key West, you will not be using that rental car much. Because the island itself is only 2 miles by 4 miles, many guests return their car at the airport and pick another one back up at the end of their week.
