I met Drew while I was on holiday in Key West. I was strolling along Duval Street and walked into the only Starbucks on the island as I needed a pick me up after a day of wandering around. I saw Drew sitting at a table at the far end of the store and we caught eyes and smiled at each other. I thought I was being clever by sneaking in glances as my eyes "wandered" around the store only to be caught staring. As I got up the nerve to say hello he got a call on his cell and from the looks of his furrowed brow I could tell it wasn't a pleasant call but decided to wait to finish my awkward hello. Once he finished his call I thought "hmmm....he's not a very happy person" and almost cut my greeting short to run out but decided I should give him a chance. After a few coffees we ventured out to have a cocktail and talked about nothing and everything. It was then that we both knew that we stumbled onto something great and needed to see where this would lead. The 2nd best thing from this was his/our son (which I've always wanted). Fast forward 10 1/2yrs of happiness that all started from a hello and a furrowed brow.
