Sleeping Bear Dunes
Drive through the National Park to find lookout points or, if you dare, take the long hike up and down dunes to the beach.
Traverse City
Explore the quant downtown of Traverse City. Get some souvenirs from kitschy stores, get an overpriced hoodie from the M22 store, or get cherry pie from Cherry Republic (SO good).
Mackinac Island
If you're staying for the holiday weekend, take the ferry for a day trip to Mackinac Island! Cars aren't allowed on the island, but there's plenty of horse and buggies to take you around. It's also the fudge capital of the world, so get some chocolate while you're up there. Be sure to get tea on the porch of the Grand Hotel before you leave.

Check out all the wineries in northern Michigan! Start with our wedding venue, Black Star Farms, and make your way through Mari Vineyards, Aurora Cellars, Chateau Chantal, and Brys Estate.
Short's Brewing Company Bellaire Pub
Get cider and beer from Northern Michigan brewery Shorts. It's a bit of a drive from Traverse City, so while you're out driving, check out Jolly Pumpkin, another brewery in North Michigan.
