Having you attend our wedding is the greatest gift of all. However, if you're looking for wedding gift ideas, you can find our wish list on the "Registry" tab on this website.
Yes! We will be providing a 25-person shuttle that will meet in the lot at the Parkshore Resort, right next door to the Brio Beach Inn, where we blocked rooms. The shuttle will do a pick up that will depart by 1:45pm from the resort for our 3pm ceremony. Additionally, there will be two drop offs: one at 8:30pm back to Parkshore Resort and another at 10:15pm. Though we do have room on the shuttle, we encourage folks with cars that will drive sober to use their transportation for their own ease and flexibility. Further, Ubers and Lyfts are readily available in Traverse City near the hotels.
We are having an "unplugged ceremony," which means we're asking for all phones and devices to be put away and on silent or turned off during our ceremony so you can be present during the ceremony. Our officiant will announce this at the beginning of the ceremony as a reminder. We have a professional photographer available to capture everything, and we'd hate to have a well-meaning person's phone blocking the moment for them to capture. We promise to share those pictures afterwards. After the ceremony, please take as many pictures as you would like and upload them in our shared Google Drive folder here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1iK9C1GIduKm984zMv8mZyKhHKtF0WS6_?usp=sharing
We would love to see our family and friends get dressed up with us! We are requesting cocktail or semi-formal attire for the evening. Men should wear suits and ties and women can opt for a cocktail dress or more formal (but not gowns) dresses or pantsuits. You can wear whatever color you would like (other than white, cream, or ivory ;) ), but if you would like to match the wedding party and our theme, you can wear light, pastel colors.
There is a large parking lot at Black Star Farms. There will be instructions and staff guiding you on where to park during the ceremony, which is on top of a hill, and where to park for the cocktail hour, dinner, and reception, which are all down the hill. If you do drive yourself, please do not drive while intoxicated. We will find other transportation to get you to your hotel if you let us know. You can also leave your car in the Inn parking lot overnight and it will be safe. You can return in the morning to retrieve it. We will also be providing a shuttle, which we provide more information for in another question on this page. Additionally, there is Uber and Lyft in the Traverse City/Suttons Bay area, so you are welcome to take that.
No, they are both at Black Star Farms. The ceremony will be at the top of the hill on the property overlooking the vineyard and the inn. The cocktail hour and reception will be indoors at the inn and dancing will occur a short walk away inside the barn.
We extended invitations to the people we would love to come. If you received a plus one, your invitation will say "and guest." Otherwise, the invitation will specify who is invited to the wedding. Due to limited space, we are only able to accommodate those guests formally invited on your wedding invitation.
You are able to RSVP on this website by clicking on a tab at the top of this website that says "RSVP." There you will input your full name, your guest's name if you are provided one, and whether you and your guest can attend. If your formal first name does not appear, please try your nickname and your last name or contact Dre and Sam. You will also choose your meal at this point and offer any dietary restrictions or song requests you have.
Yes, we blocked rooms at the Brio Beach Inn and the Pointes North Beachfront Resort Hotel. More information on that is on the "Travel" page of this website. Additional, we list other places we did not block rooms for but suggest for guests.
We love all your little ones! However, due to many factors including limited space, we respectfully request you only bring those listed on your invitation, unless Dre or Sam have reached out to you personally about adding your children in our wedding party. We hope you understand and enjoy your night out!
We are very conscious of the fact that we are holding our wedding during a pandemic, so we are taking several efforts to ensure the safety of our loved ones who are traveling to join our wedding. All our invited guests are triple vaccinated against COVID-19, and you are welcome to wear masks anytime during the ceremony and reception. The venue and their staff are following CDC guidelines, as well as local and state guidance that are in place. Hand sanitation zones will be in all indoor areas, and Black Star Farms is regularly sanitizing all areas. For more information on Black Star Farms' health and safety efforts, please visit: https://www.blackstarfarms.com/health-safety/. We understand if you still do not feel comfortable with joining our wedding and there are no hard feelings! Just let Dre or Sam know as soon as possible. We do ask if you are feeling unwell that you please stay home.
