La Jolla Village & Cove

La Jolla Village is a filled with endless restaurants, bars, and high-end shopping. You could spend a half or full day here. Activity recommendations in La Jolla Village: - La Jolla Cove: beautiful view point to see San Diego harbor seals and sea lions. Kayaking is offered around this area through various vendors as well as snorkeling (though the water will be very chilly during this time of year) - La Jolla Tide Pools: home to various fish, sea anemones, and crabs Restaurant recommendations in La Jolla - The Taco Stand: casual taco shop- $ -Birdseye Rooftop: ocean sunset view happy hour spot- $$ -Puesto: “artisanal” tacos $$$

Located just North of our venue, Torrey Pines State Reserve is a great spot for hiking and nature walks along the cliffs of La Jolla Restaurants near by in Del Mar: -Roberto’s Taco shop Del Mar: hole in the wall taco shop with the best California burrito $ -Board & Brew: surf-themed sandwich shop $ -Viewpoint Brewing: restaurant/brewery with great views $$

Balboa Park

Home to the world-famous San Diego Zoo as well as many museums including the Natural History Museum and the Air & Space Museum, Balboa park has many activities and attractions to offer. You can spend a full day here exploring the attractions listed above, or just a half day to get lunch and walk around the park.

Coronado is a great place for a day trip. Located 20 minutes south of La Jolla and across the bay from downtown San Diego, Coronado has plenty of little shops, beaches, restaurants, and activities to keep you entertained. How to get there: -via car over the Coronado bridge -via ferry from downtown San Diego Favorite things to do on Coronado: -rent a 4-person bicycle or beach cruisers and ride along the boardwalk -grab a drink on the Sun Deck of the historic Hotel Del Coronado RESTAURANTS: -The Brigantine (Seafood): $$$$ - Miguel’s (Mexican):$$$

Highway 101 is a hot spot for great cuisine, breweries, and shopping. It extends through many smaller beach communities along the coast including Del Mar, Solana Beach, and Encinitas. Downtown Encinitas and Cedros Avenue in Solana Beach are some of our favorite places to go along the 101 for restaurants, bars, and shopping! Though it will likely be too cold for swimming, if you want to walk along the shore, there are many extensive shorelines to explore right off the 101 RESTAURANTS: -Pipes cafe: BEST breakfast burritos in town $ -Buona Forchetta Encinitas: authentic Italian $$$ -City Tacos: casual huge tacos $ - Claire’s on Cedros: trendy brunch spot $$ -Pizza Port: casual beach brewery & pizza $
