Flight
San Antonio International Airport
Traveling to Boerne, we recommend flying into San Antonio International Airport (SAT). Directions to Boerne from SAT (33 minutes no traffic): Exiting Airport Boulevard southbound, turn right on I-410 Loop W access road and enter ramp on I-410. Take right exit to IH-10 towards El Paso. Continue north on IH-10 around 20 miles. Take any exits towards Boerne. Exit 540 will cut over to main street and passes The Bevy hotel. From SAT airport, you can also catch US-281 North and take 1604 W loop. However, there is tons of construction on 1604 W loop and can be hazardous and traffic very severe during rush hour. I-410 is better with more traffic lanes and once you cut over to IH-10, it's normally clear, but traffic can be heavy during rush hour trying to go away from the airport in both directions. We recommend planning accordingly with rush hour traffic. There is the option to flying into Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (ATX) and usually less flight connections/more direct flights than San Antonio. However, Boerne is more northwest San Antonio and it would easily be a 2 hour drive from ATX airport due to Austin traffic.
