We first met in November, 2020, and had our first "date" via Zoom (starting our story very firmly in the quarantine era!) on Sara's birthday. That weekend, we met in person for the first time at a brewery in Newburyport, followed by tea at a local coffee shop. Our initial dates included the normal restaurants (we had an excellent meal at the Tuscan Village in Burlington, MA), the slightly-less mainstream tour of Lexington/Concord battlegrounds and cemeteries as well as New Hampshire forts, and then soon open houses as Nick looked to purchase his first house. Both of us had heard stories from our friends about how "you just know" when you've met the one, and that was certainly true for us. As the months went by, the feeling of a true connection grew. We worked together to make our new house (which, in the tradition of great historical figures naming their homes, we christened "Brookview") into a cozy home, went on plenty of adventures both locally and across the country, and celebrated in each other's successes. On September 12, 2021, Sara came home from work to a lovely evening with candlelight, flowers, and prosecco. Nick often set up nice surprises like this, but there was an extra surprise this time. As Sara told her stories from the week before, her prosecco bubbled enough that she saw a sparkling ring in the bottom of her glass. Of course, she said yes to the love of her life, and on October 14th, 2023, we cannot wait to celebrate our love and commitment to each other with all of you!
