Both our ceremony and reception will be held at the Above ALX Community Penthouse. The address is: 277 S Washington St Penthouse, Alexandria, VA 22314. Doors will open at 4:00 PM, the ceremony will start at 4:30 PM, and a cocktail hour/the reception will immediately follow! Our venue is a short distance from both of the hotels where we have rooms blocked listed on the 'Travel' page. The venue has onsite parking for those of you who will have cars while here!
While we would love to accommodate everyone, we've made the decision to keep the guest list more intimate for our wedding day. Unfortunately, we won't be able to extend plus-one invitations unless noted on your invitation. We hope you understand our choice and still look forward to celebrating with you. We're planning for a semi-formal celebration and would love for our guests to dress in attire that aligns with this style. While we both love kids (especially yours!), we've decided to keep our wedding an adults-only affair. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to celebrating with you on our special day!
YES! The drinks are on us and the hangover is on you – get ready to party! For this reason, we encourage you to walk or lyft/uber to and from the venue. Please make sure you have a way to get home safely.
Our venue is a rooftop that allows for an open air feel. The ceremony will be out on the main terrace (outside), cocktail hour will be on the side terrace (outside) and in the parlour (inside), and dinner will be hybrid – some tables inside, some outside. October in Virginia is very mild. You can likely expect temperatures in the mid 60s.
We are having an unplugged ceremony, meaning that once the ceremony begins, wer ask that all phones be put away and silenced. We want everyone to be fully present with us and for our photographer to be able to capture the best pictures which we will share with you. Once the ceremony is over, feel free to take as many pictures as you'd like and don't forget to share them with us!
