Rumbling Bald Amenities
We encourage everyone to enjoy as many of the amenities at Rumbling Bald as you can during your stay. There are two restaurants/bars, a cafe, beach, three pools, a lazy river, hiking trails, tennis/pickleball, two golf courses, a wellness center and spa, and much more!
Golf
Rumbling Bald has two great golf courses - Apple Valley and Bald Mountain. Tee times can be booked up to a month in advance. Apple Valley: (828) 694-3043 Bald Mountain: (828) 694-3042
Boat and SUP Board Rentals
Pontoon boats, kayaks, and SUP boards can be rented from the North Shore Cabana on the Rumbling Bald Beach. There is also a 1.5-hour scenic boat tour of Lake Lure - definitely recommended if you're a fan of the movie 'Dirty Dancing', as you will get to see and hear about several filming locations around the lake! Chimney Rock
If you have time, we highly recommend a visit to the town of Chimney Rock, which is a 20-25 minute drive from Rumbling Bald. We recommend grabbing a beer at Chimney Rock Brewing Co. and wading in the river. Across the street is Burntshirt Vineyards Tasting Room where you can drink local wine and grab a bite to eat. Chimney Rock State Park is located in the center of town and has hiking trails and beautiful views.
Lake Lure Flowering Bridge
A beautiful community garden that sits atop a historic bridge. 20-25 minute drive from Rumbling Bald and about 5 minutes from Chimney Rock.
