We first met at the Draft in Concord, New Hampshire and hit it off instantly. Doug had plenty of "fun facts" which amused and impressed Katie. They bonded over their love of the outdoors, craft beer, and all things whimsical.

Three years later Doug decided to pop the question. He had been planning the proposal for months and enlisted the help of our best friends, Tom and Chelsea, to ensure it would be a surprise. We went camping at our favorite spot in Errol, New Hampshire on a beautiful June afternoon. At sunset, Doug took us out to a tiny little island, where he got down on one knee. The moment couldn't have been more perfect. In our true nature, Doug was too nervous to say anything, and Katie was so excited she forgot to say "YES!".
