Like many modern couples, we met on the dating app, Hinge. Except it was August 2020, and going on dates was more logistically and morally complicated than ever before. After a few weeks of vetting each other and talking about our quarantine hobbies (bread baking and amateur techno DJ’ing – you can guess who’s who), we put on our special occasion masks and met for tapas and a pitcher of sangria in Georgetown. For seven hours (yes, 7!), we bounced from outdoor patio to outdoor patio, and even crossed the Key Bridge to get one last drink in Arlington where the last call was later than D.C. And the rest is history…
